In public equities, we manage with a patient and concentrated ownership style. We hold a small number of durable businesses whose advantages compound over time, and we judge them on their destination rather than the noise along the way. Our work rests, above all, on the accuracy of valuation and our prediction of intrinsic value.
Across the broader portfolio, we pair the liquidity of public markets with meaningful private ownership. When we hold private assets, in contrast to our public strategy, we prefer to have the capability to both operate and to influence. Our roots are firmly in the value-oriented Midwest, and we are simply looking for opportunities to continue buying dollars for fifty cents.
